OWNER/LEAD PHOTOGRAPHER

Owner/Lead Photographer, Joshua Stern, began his passion for photography from a very young age with a film instamatic camera. As he entered his teens, Josh began to use a simple point and shoot film camera. By 15, Josh was taking a summer course in photography that included work in a dark room processing black and white film and developing print photographs.

Soon Josh's parents decided to purchase a SLR film camera, the Canon Rebel 2000. Josh began to follow in his father's footsteps enjoying photography as a hobby. Josh learned the fine art of composing photographs and framing the subjects and foreground to create a pleasant lively photograph.

As the age of digital photography began to blossom, Josh invested in a Professional Canon digital SLR. He soon realized the value of Canon's top-of-the-line Professional "L-Series" lenses and has never returned to the much less expensive consumer grade lenses. the quality and sharpness of the "L-Series" Canon lenses are remarkable and create the stunning photographs that will bring your wedding album to life.

While in college, Josh enjoyed being a staff photographer with the university daily newspaper. On one assignment, Josh got lucky and truly became a Professional Photographer when the management of the popular band, "OK Go!" called him to request to purchase the rights to an image he had taken at a concert at the University, which appeared on the front page of the daily newspaper the day following the concert. Josh was told to expect a phone call from a representative of Capitol Records in Hollywood, California, who would be in touch with him to negotiate the details of the deal. Later that year, Josh's photograph appeared on the cover of OK Go's hit single "Invincible."

After graduating college, Josh started his own photography business, JS Photography, LLC. Coming from a photojournalist background, he soon settled into Wedding and Event photography. Having shot a number of Weddings and Bar/Bath Mitzvahs, Josh began to grow his business.

Josh joined the team of the nation's largest college and university graduation photography company. Event Photography Group (formerly Bob Knight Photography and Chappel Studios). Now in his third year with EPG, Josh has taken on a leadership position and served as Team Captain in charge of assistant photographers at graduation ceremonies as large as 1,000 students.

In a matter of couple of years, JS Photography was growing and evolving to the ever changing trends in Wedding photography and advancement of digital SLR technology. Josh regularly upgrades his equipment to ensure the newest technology is used.

As JS Photography continued to grow, Josh has partnered with the nation's leading professional photo print lab and album design company. After shopping around, Josh determined that his company produced the finest products and was always developing new product collections to appeal to the modern bride. They also boast the smallest seam in the industry with their Premium Leather Flush-mount (lay-flat) wedding albums.

Today, JS Photography continues to expand and introduce the latest wedding collections and offer innovative options that make JS Photography unique and on the cutting edge of the wedding photography industry.

Josh's work has appeared numerous times in South Jersey Magazine and Philadelphia Style Magazine. Currently, Josh is a free lance photographer with Washington, DC's Capitol FileMagazine.

Josh has been a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and recently joined the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI).
